Memphis without being open to all possibilities and what others see as impossible is just not Memphis. But when it comes to the business of brands sometimes you start to wonder. We may be guilty of putting too much weight on a brand to solve problems that no brand anywhere can solve.

3. Wahlburgers Moving Into Sweetie Pie’s Space -

Wahlburgers – a burger chain that takes its name from executive chef Paul Wahlberg and celebrity brothers and actors Mark and Donnie – is opening this fall at 349 Beale Street on the southwest corner of Fourth and Beale – the corner where Sweetie Pie’s had planned to open years ago.

4. Sweetie Pie’s Signs at Fourth and Beale -

The Beale Street entertainment district has a new tenant on its eastern border with Fourth Street in a space that has been closed for 12 years.

Downtown Memphis Commission president Paul Morris tweeted Thursday, April 10, that Sweetie Pie’s, a soul food restaurant with three locations in St. Louis and plans for expansion in other cities, will open at 349 Beale St. on the southeast corner of Fourth and Beale streets.

Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects will host artists from Fred Rawlinson Studio today from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1500 Union Ave. The show will run through Sunday. For more information, call Ciara Neill at 278-6868.

The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence will hold a workshop titled "What If...? Crisis Management and Disaster Planning for Nonprofits" today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Assisi Foundation of Memphis Inc., 515 Erin Drive. The event is $99 for members and $150 for nonmembers.
