2. IP Giving $1.25 Million Grant To Mid-South Food Bank -

International Paper Co. chairman and CEO Mark Sutton will present a $1.25 million check to Mid-South Food Bank on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m., as part of the company’s support of Mid-South Food Bank as its signature charity. The event will take place at 239 S. Dudley St.

3. From City to Rural County, Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry Delivers -

Poverty and hunger are easy enough to find in Memphis. You don’t have to go far from the Mid-South Food Bank’s offices, at 239 South Dudley St., before you start wandering into pockets of isolation – food deserts.

4. Expanding Outreach -

Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) recently expanded its outreach to the poor by launching a new mobile food pantry that will travel throughout the region, providing sustenance to families in need.

5. Mid-South Food Bank Seeks Donations -

The Mid-South Food Bank is currently accepting monetary donations online at http://bit.ly/kfJ6iT and will be taking food donations through Saturday, April 14.

6. Food Bank Donations Worth More Through April -

Donations made to Mid-South Food Bank during March and April will be worth even more, thanks to the Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation’s $1 Million Challenge.

7. Mid-South Food Bank Seeks Donations -

Officials at the Mid-South Food Bank are hoping people will use some of the money from their income tax rebates to make a contribution.

The Performance Excellence Association of the Mid-South (PerfX) will host its Lunch and Learn Series today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Shelby County Training Auditorium of the Peggy Edmiston Building, 1075 Mullins Station Road. The cost is $7 for PerfX members and $10 for nonmembers. For reservations, e-mail Harriet Browning at hjbrowning@comcast.net or leave a voice mail at 831-0230. The deadline for reservations is today at noon.
