4. B.B. King Memorial to Be Dedicated Friday on Beale -

After years of discussion, the Beale Street Entertainment District on Friday, Sept. 15, gets a monument in honor of the late blues legend B.B. King who began his career on Beale Street in the late 1940s.

5. Downtown Agency Looks to Tighten Up Hotel Tax Breaks -

To keep tourists flowing to Downtown, the Center City Revenue Finance Corp. grants tax breaks, or payment-in-lieu-of-tax incentives, for hotel developers. Such readily available incentives have helped create a market with 15 hotels and 3,000 rooms in Downtown Memphis.

6. B.B. King's Fundraiser to Aid Ill Employee -

B.B. King’s Restaurant & Blues Club is collecting funds this week for server Gerald Jones, who is battling stage four T-cell lymphoma, and his family.

7. 143 Beale Co. LLC Files $1.5M Leasehold Loan -

143 Beale Co. LLC has filed a $1.5 million leasehold deed of trust through First Alliance Bank for property at the southeast corner of Beale and Second streets in the Beale Street Urban Renewal Area. The loan matures Oct. 1, 2017.

8. Memphis Owner of Vegas B.B. King Club Files Bankruptcy -

The Memphis company that owns B.B. King Blues Club in Las Vegas has filed for bankruptcy protection in Memphis federal court. Beale Street Blues Co. Las Vegas LLC Wednesday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, according to The Daily News Online, www.memphisdailynews.com.

9. Signage Requests On Tap for DRB -

Among the items on tap for Wednesday’s meeting of the Center City Commission Design Review Board are a handful of signage requests.

They include off-premise sign requests for B.B. King’s at 143 Beale St. and Maggie Moo’s at 151 S. Main St.
