One of the Broad Avenue district’s newest restaurants is about to get bigger, just in time for patio season. After the Broad Avenue Art Walk wraps this weekend, come Monday, April 16, The Liquor Store at 2655 Broad Ave. will open its patio space, almost doubling the diner’s seating capacity from 42 to 78.

Four days in Memphis was not long enough for British newspaper reporter Adam Gretton, who toured the Bluff City last fall as part of a quartet of journalists in town from the United Kingdom.
They were flown to town by the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and whisked to a variety of landmarks on their whirlwind four-day tour. They scarfed down lunch at The Arcade Restaurant. The scribes were given a 90-minute walkthrough at Ardent Studios on Madison Avenue.

Shelby Singleton has been talking to a colorful cast of characters about selling the Sun Records label he bought in 1969.
Singleton is chairman of Sun Entertainment Holding Corp., the Nashville company that owns the Sun logo and master recordings of such musicians as Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins. He was a record producer himself before buying the Memphis label and its catalog from Sam Phillips.
