1. SEC Investigation of Global Ministries Adds More Complexity -

The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Global Ministries Foundation, according to the court-appointed receiver for the Tulane and Warren Apartment, two complexes owned by GMF.

Word of the SEC probe follows search warrants served at Global Ministries Cordova offices Aug. 3 in a separate investigation by the Inspector General’s office of the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Search warrants in that investigation were also served that same day at the Dexter, Missouri offices of the Gill Group, which appraised GMF property in Memphis and Florida.

3. Election Commission Certifies March Results -

Shelby County Election commissioners certified Monday, March 21, the results of the March 1 presidential primaries and the countywide primaries for General Sessions Court Clerk in Shelby County.

In the Republican presidential primary, Donald Trump carried Shelby County with rival Ted Cruz a close second, followed by Marco Rubio. Trump carried the state by a wider margin.

8. Treadway Joins Thomas & Betts as Senior VP for Electrical Business -

Charles L. Treadway has joined Thomas & Betts Corporation in the newly created position of senior vice president, group president – electrical. Treadway will provide strategic and operational leadership to the company’s electrical products businesses on a global basis. The electrical segment of Thomas & Betts has approximately 60 manufacturing and distribution facilities in 11 countries and employs approximately 8,000 associates worldwide. The electrical segment reported $2.1 billion in revenues in 2008. Treadway previously served as president and chief executive officer for the Custom Sensors and Technology unit of Schneider Electric.

10. Group Files $2.7M Loan For New Medical Building -

Wolf Trail Medical Partners has filed a $2.7 million construction deed of trust to build a two-story, 10,800-square-foot medical building in the Blair James Commercial Subdivision on Wolf Trail Cove in Germantown. Construction starts this week.

11. Smith Hired as Regional Clinical Director Of Ageless Men's Health -

Jeff Smith has been hired as regional clinical director for Memphis-based Ageless Men's Health, which provides treatment for men with low testosterone levels.

Smith has 24 years of experience in the medical field, and is a registered nurse specializing in intensive care, neuro-trauma ICU and emergency-room disciplines. He is the founder and owner of ICU Jet International Inc., a fixed-wing, air-ambulance service.
