1. Halvorson Assumes New Role At Cumberland Trust -

Independent corporate trust firm Cumberland Trust has promoted Rebecca M. Halvorson to senior vice president of business development and manager of regional markets. Halvorson, who joined Cumberland in 2010, is based in the company’s Memphis office.

2. Earthman Promoted at Geotechnology -

Doug Earthman Jr. has been promoted to business development associate at Geotechnology Inc., a geotechnical engineering and environmental services firm. In his new role, he’ll develop and maintain relationships with clients throughout Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas in markets that include transportation, manufacturing, energy, institutional and commercial developments.

3. Bolding is Only Tennessean to Teach at 2015 NeighborWorks Institute -

Tim Bolding, executive director of United Housing Inc., is the only Tennessean selected to teach at NeighborWorks America’s 2015 NeighborWorks Training Institute. Bolding has taught coursework at the training institutes, which focus on providing high-quality training to nonprofit housing professionals, for more than 10 years.

Richard Redmont has joined HORNE LLP as a tax consulting manager. Redmont, a certified public accountant, has more than 25 years of tax and consulting experience with international firms in the accounting and insurance industries, and has served clients in the manufacturing, retail, distribution, health care and financial services industries. He also served on a national Sarbanes-Oxley team for an international firm.

Charles “Chuck” Woeppel has been named chief executive officer of UT Medical Group Inc. Woeppel, who has served as the organization’s chief operating officer since 2012, will also continue in that role.

The Tennessee Supreme Court has formally announced its support of the Tennessee Bar Association’s multifaceted Access to Justice, or “4ALL,” campaign, spearheaded by TBA president George “Buck” Lewis, a shareholder at the Memphis office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz PC.

13. Thompson Named Chair of MPACT Board -

Jeni Stephens Thompson has been named the new chairwoman of the MPACT Memphis board of directors. Thompson is the director of marketing and development for the Memphis Bioworks Foundation. She has a bachelor's degree in communications from Lambuth University and a master's degree in education from Vanderbilt University. Thompson serves as the programs chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and sits on the Playhouse on the Square board. She is a member of the Leadership Memphis Class of 2008.

14. Big Arts Donation To be Announced Today at Rhodes -

He's the chairman of a Nashville record label, a former lieutenant governor of California, a mega-philanthropist and a self-made titan of the music industry.

And today, Mike Curb - who heads Nashville-based Curb Records - is announcing a large-scale investment in Memphis that likely will include a sizable donation to Rhodes College. Details of his project, which apparently will bring together educators, students, artists and more to promote Southern music, all will be unveiled today at a national conference on the arts hosted at Rhodes.

15. Morman Named Branch Director at MATCU -

Cheryl Morman has been named branch director of Memphis Area Teachers' Credit Union's (MATCU) Central branch. She previously was deposit services manager at Marriott Employees' Federal Credit Union in Bethesda, Md.

16. Kobernus Joins MAAR As Governmental Affairs Director -

Aubrie Rhodes Kobernus has joined Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) as governmental affairs director. Kobernus received a master's degree in business administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in May 2006. While pursuing her degree, she interned with NeighborWorks America and New Century Financial Corp., focusing on the mortgage and housing industry.
