Pauline Vernon, the vice president of workforce system alignment for the Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce, has become interim executive director of GMACW, the organization announced Thursday, Feb. 2.

4. Bioworks Foundation Wins $200,000 EPA Grant -

Memphis Bioworks is one of 18 grantees for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training (EWDJT) program.

The EPA made the announcement on Monday, May 12, and each grant is worth $200,000.

5. Workforce Development Topic of Bioworks Event -

Memphis Bioworks Business Association will host “Building the Talent Base for Bioscience: Workforce Development Initiatives in the Mid-South,” Thursday, March 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The University Club, 1346 Central Ave.

6. Bioworks Foundation Expands Team -

After receiving several competitive government grants, Memphis Bioworks Foundation is expanding its team by hiring for three new positions focused on bringing more bioscience industry jobs to the region.
