1. St. Jude Study: More To Be Done -

Data is beginning to come in from the deeper analysis of the lives of long-term survivors of childhood cancer as part of a program coordinated through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - and it shows, among other things, that more progress still needs to be made.

2. Feds Grant $1.7 Million to St. Jude Pediatric Cancer Survivors -

A St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital program aimed at tracking health outcomes of pediatric cancer survivors has received a $1.7 million federal grant.

The St. Jude Lifetime Cohort Study, started in 2007 and led by Dr. Melissa Hudson, seeks to gain insight into long-term effects of the illness and the treatments used on kids. The research will allow doctors to make better decisions on treatment options for childhood cancer.

Memphis-based wealth management firm Diversified Trust has announced seven promotions.

Being promoted to senior vice president are Jo Len Clark and Marcus Lewis. Melissa Schilling has been promoted to vice president. And being promoted to senior associate are Tim Dudas, Amy Hudson, Megan Mayhew and Hadley Miller.

6. Memphis Farmers Market Plans $400K Expansion -

Farmers usually wait until spring to start digging, but on Saturday the Memphis Farmers Market broke ground on an expansion that will mean more local produce in the coming year.

Organizers of the market said that a new canopy structure added to the Central Station property will add badly needed shelter and a sense of permanence.
