Celebrity chef Mario Batali stepped away from his restaurant empire and cooking show "The Chew" on Monday as he said that reports of sexual misconduct "match up" to his behavior.

Food news website Eater New York published an article Monday that said four women accused the chef of inappropriate touching. One of the women said that Batali groped her chest after wine spilled on her shirt. Another said he grabbed her from behind and held her tightly against his body. Eater said the four women, three of whom worked for Batali, asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation.

39. Redbirds Proving Key Role in ‘Cardinal Way’ -

The St. Louis Cardinals had just wrapped up one playoff series and were headed to the National League Championship Series with a roster mainly comprised of homegrown players.

There was rookie pitcher Michael Wacha, who had flirted with no-hitters in the regular season and in the NL Division Series. There was first baseman Matt “Big City” Adams, who stepped into the void created by Allen Craig’s foot injury. And there was 23-year-old Trevor Rosenthal, who was thrust into that all-important closer’s role late in the season.

October makes for some great postseason baseball. But the preseason basketball? Not so great.

The Grizzlies were, at times, flat-out ragged in their play while losing 95-90 to the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday, Oct. 9, at FedExForum. It was especially rough in the early going as in the first half the Grizzlies made 13 of their 17 turnovers while running first-year coach Dave Joerger’s new offense aimed at moving the ball sooner in the 24-second shot clock.

Gambling revenue has fallen $550,000 since 2007 for casinos in Mississippi – from $2.8 billion to $2.25 billion.

Joe McDuffie was just another fan in a Kobe jersey, glancing around FedExForum and pointing out patches of purple and gold.
