1. Multiple Memphis Tigers To Be in NFL Camps -

Former University of Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch was the headliner, as expected, being drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round and 26th overall.

But other players reached free agent deals with clubs after the draft concluded. Two players, tight end Alan Cross and offensive lineman Taylor Fallin, latched on with Tampa Bay.

3. Facing USF, Memphis Looks to Remove Late-Game Drama -

Late in the offensive carnival that was masquerading as a college football game, University of Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch looked to encourage the Tigers’ beleaguered defense.

This was last Thursday night, Sept. 24, at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in the Tigers’ ESPN game vs. All American Conference-rival Cincinnati. And late in the fourth quarter, the score was tied 46-46 and the Memphis defense was headed back onto the field.

4. Tigers Give Up 752 Yards, Still Beat Cincinnati To Remain Undefeated -

Playing on ESPN’s national stage Thursday, Sept. 24, the University of Memphis showed the country what it can do on offense.

And what it can’t yet do on defense.

But in the end, on the right side of a 53-46 victory over Cincinnati at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium before 45,172 fans, the Tigers also showed they could overcome just about anything.

5. Memphis Football Players Suspended for BYU Brawl -

When last we saw the University of Memphis football team in action, they were winning the Miami Beach Bowl and then fighting on the field afterward with Brigham Young University players.

It was an ugly scene, with plenty of blame to go around, though BYU apparently isn’t going to hand out any real punishment until after playing at Nebraska in the first game of the season.

6. Memphis Kicker Named to Phil Steele Preseason Team -

University of Memphis junior place-kicker Jake Elliott, the reigning American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Year and a two-time all-conference selection, has been named to Phil Steele’s 2015 Preseason AAC Team, the publication announced.
