1. Musician, Songwriter Sykes Joins Ardent as Chief Manager -

Longtime songwriter, touring artist and studio owner Keith Sykes has joined Ardent Studios as chief manager, bringing more than 40 years’ experience in the music industry. More than 100 of Sykes’ songs have been recorded by other artists – including John Prine, Rosanne Cash and George Thorogood – and have sold more than 25 million records worldwide. In addition, he once played in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and co-wrote the 1979 hit “Volcano” with Buffett.

The Kitbash Brand Design team has moved from Collierville to the Broad Avenue Arts District.

Founded by Jeff Rodgers in 2013, Kitbash is a creative agency that had been located at the Collierville Town Square. After months of searching, Rodgers and his team of creatives found a 2,400-square-foot space at the corner of Bingham Street and Broad Avenue.

5. New AD Fires Shot Easily Heard at Nelson Stadium -

Tennessee coaches of all sports were alerted last Thursday when Sam Winterbotham was fired after 11 seasons as the Vols’ men’s tennis coach.

No doubt UT baseball coach Dave Serrano got the alert. He could be next in line.

6. Busiest Season for Sports Hits Big Orange Country -

It’s the busiest time of the year for Tennessee athletics. There’s even some football to whet your gridiron appetite.

The Vols begin spring football practices March 21, and the DISH Orange & White Game is April 22 at Neyland Stadium. By then, much will have happened in Big Orange Nation.

7. Confident Serrano Playing for Future at UT -

Tennessee baseball coach Dave Serrano wasn’t setting the bar too high when he met with the media for his 2016 preseason press conference.

Serrano made that mistake before the 2015 season with talk of reaching an NCAA regional and perhaps Omaha, Nebraska, site of the College World Series.
