Five Below has signed a lease for 8,680 square feet in Bartlett Towne Center at the southeast corner of Stage and Bartlett Boulevard, according to the Memphis office of The Shopping Center Group.

Longtime songwriter, touring artist and studio owner Keith Sykes has joined Ardent Studios as chief manager, bringing more than 40 years’ experience in the music industry. More than 100 of Sykes’ songs have been recorded by other artists – including John Prine, Rosanne Cash and George Thorogood – and have sold more than 25 million records worldwide. In addition, he once played in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and co-wrote the 1979 hit “Volcano” with Buffett.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The Arkansas Supreme Court struck down the state's execution law Friday, calling it unconstitutional.
In a split decision, the high court sided with 10 death row inmates who argued that, under Arkansas' constitution, only the Legislature can set execution policy. Legislators in 2009 voted to give that authority to the Department of Correction.

“We don’t think of Swankys as Mexican,” said Matt Wilson, “and not even Tex-Mex. Around the store we call it Tenn-Mex.”
That’s an appropriate, if wholly original, term for the restaurant that Wilson opened in Germantown in July 2005. As swanky as its name, the establishment facing Poplar Avenue in the Carrefour shopping center seemed less Mexican than a hipster’s rendition of a Southwestern diner with a retro gleam.
