1. Brooks Releases Feedback on Downtown Move -

The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art plans to use feedback from public sessions about its Downtown move to vet potential architects for the riverfront campus.

The museum this week released data compiled by Key Public Strategies following four sessions earlier this year to gauge patrons’ thoughts about the planned move to a site at Front Street and Union Avenue.

The board of the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art announced Tuesday, Oct. 17, it is working with city government to relocate the museum from its Overton Park home to a Downtown site on Front Street between Union and Monroe avenues.

4. Memphis Brooks Museum Eyes Relocation Out of Overton Park -

The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art might be leaving Midtown. The museum’s board has voted to allow the museum’s staff and the board’s long-range planning committee to evaluate locations in Memphis outside of Overton Park as possible homes for the Brooks’ permanent collection and future museum facilities.

5. Brooks Raises $5 Million In Centennial Campaign -

The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art raised $5 million during its yearlong centennial celebration.

The museum announced the fundraising total Thursday, July 6.

The fundraising effort included a challenge grant by the Hyde Family Foundations for $1 million announced a year before the centennial.

7. MIFA Announces New Board Members -

Three people have joined the board for the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association.

They are Deborah Craddock, Meg Crosby and the Rev. Milton Hawkins.

8. Thompson Named Chair of MPACT Board -

Jeni Stephens Thompson has been named the new chairwoman of the MPACT Memphis board of directors. Thompson is the director of marketing and development for the Memphis Bioworks Foundation. She has a bachelor's degree in communications from Lambuth University and a master's degree in education from Vanderbilt University. Thompson serves as the programs chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and sits on the Playhouse on the Square board. She is a member of the Leadership Memphis Class of 2008.
