1. Fed Holds Steady on Rates, Seeks Further Economic Gains -

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Federal Reserve appears on track to raise interest rates later this year but signaled Wednesday that it wants to see further economic gains and higher inflation before doing so.

2. Riding High -

The traditional enclosed shopping mall is supposedly a retail relic, a throwback to the days when most consumer buying activity occurred behind bricks and mortar.

Fifteen years after it opened, though, Wolfchase Galleria is still holding on, maintaining a high occupancy rate, bringing on innovative concepts that fit into the mall’s existing mix and having recently announced a group of new tenants.

The Memphis Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will meet Monday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Memphis, 939 Ridge Lake Blvd. Officer Brian Hanson of the Bartlett Police Department will speak about violence in the workplace. 4. Two Memphis Malls Get New Leadership -

Oak Court Mall and Wolfchase Galleria have been assigned new general managers, Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. said Thursday.
