Priscilla Presley has been awarded the AutoZone Liberty Bowl’s most prestigious recognition, the Distinguished Citizen Award. She was honored Sunday, June 24, at a dinner benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

University of Memphis senior quarterback Riley Ferguson was one of 30 quarterbacks named to the Manning Award watch list. Ferguson is also a candidate on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm watch list, the Davey O’Brien watch list and the Maxwell Award watch list.

Tennessee senior Joshua Dobbs has created a quarterback controversy. Dobbs finished his college career Dec. 30 when UT beat Nebraska 38-24 in the Music City Bowl in Nashville. He accounted for 409 total yards – 291 passing and 118 yards rushing – and was chosen the game’s MVP.

A $222,766 check was presented to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by the AutoZone Liberty Bowl and the College Football Playoff Foundation at a luncheon Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

In the summer of 1966 I met Archie Manning in his hometown of Drew, Miss. In a game of touch football, I caught a pass or two from the future All-Pro quarterback. A few months later he spent a Friday night at my house in Greenville, after a dance to which he took a Greenville girl he was dating.

30. Owner: Titans to Meet With Manning Wednesday -

NASHVILLE (AP) – The Tennessee Titans will be meeting with Peyton Manning on Wednesday, according to owner Bud Adams.

Adams told WSMV-TV the Titans' contingent will fly out of Nashville on Wednesday and spend the day with Manning, a meeting delayed apparently by trouble getting a co-pilot for his private plane. Adams told the TV station he thinks Manning really is interested in the Titans' offer, and he expects a quick decision from the four-time MVP.

NASHVILLE (AP) – A person familiar with the situation says the Tennessee Titans will be visiting with four-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning in his search for a new team.

ESPN.com first reported Titans coach Mike Munchak will meet with Manning after a session with Miami coach Joe Philbin.

Arkansas State's Hugh Freeze has agreed to take the Mississippi job, according to a person familiar to the coaching search.
