1. AAF Memphis Taps New Leadership -

If there’s one thing the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Memphis chapter knows best, it’s that the industry it represents is constantly changing. Reflecting that change, the chapter welcomed new executive director Nikii Richey and swore in its new board members at a special luncheon event at FedExForum on June 18.

2. Archer Malmo Wins Best in Show at 2016 ADDYs -

The Memphis chapter of the American Advertising Federation brought creative directors from Chicago, Austin and Santa Monica to Memphis over the weekend to judge 724 entries in the chapter’s 49th annual American Advertising Awards competition for creative excellence.

3. Memphis Ad Agencies Headed to Las Vegas -

Twelve Memphis ad agencies are headed to the national level of the American Advertising Awards after bringing home 29 awards at the regional level.

It marks the highest number of local participants at the national level in recent years, said Andrea Wiley, AAF Memphis’ incoming president. The agencies were recognized at an April 10 regional event in Knoxville after their digital, print and outdoor campaigns were judged against peers from across Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.

4. Henneberger Joins First State Bank Small-Business Lending Division -

Sean Henneberger has joined First State Bank’s small-business lending division as vice president/business development officer in the Memphis market. In his new role, Henneberger will help small businesses pursue loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program.

5. Mathews Named to New Post at FedEx Institute -

Eric Mathews was named associate director of corporate research and development at the University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology. Mathews previously served FIT in temporary roles directing research and business development and was part of the institute's founding executive management. He earned a bachelor's degree from Rhodes College and a master's degree from the University of Memphis.
