10. MAA Moves Forward With New Headquarters -

Memphis-based real estate investment trust MAA is moving forward with its corporate relocation to Germantown’s TraVure development.

The apartment-only REIT pulled a $7 million building permit with construction code officials to build out the fourth and fifth floors. It lists Grinder, Taber & Grinder as the contractor, developer Gill Properties as the owner and MAA as the tenant.

Memphis native Vonesha Mitchell has joined the Memphis Medical District Collaborative as program manager, community development. An Atlanta-based real estate investment firm has made its first purchase in the Memphis market with the acquisition of a 198,103-square-foot shopping center in the heart of Bartlett.

The Bartlett Towne Centre, located at 6005 Stage Road, was acquired by Branch Properties LLC from Houston-based real estate investment trust Weingarten Realty for $28.8 million.

Shelby County’s mortgage market closed out a busy first quarter with a 24 percent bump in purchase mortgage volume for the final month of the quarter, new figures show.

Purchase volume in March topped $162 million, up from $131 million during March 2016. That’s according to the latest figures from real estate information company Chandler Reports, www.chandlerreports.com.

William Lamberth prohibiting an insurance provider from requiring a higher insurance co-payment for oral anti-cancer medication than for injected chemotherapy medication. A two-tenant retail center on Germantown Parkway has traded hands for $3 million.

Kim Investment Partners IV LLC, a California limited liability company, purchased the 6,480-square-foot Class A building at 2288 N. Germantown Parkway from GT Plaza LLC, according to a June 29 warranty deed.
