MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A Hendrick Motorsports airplane made an emergency landing early Monday morning because smoke was discovered in the cabin.
The plane was returning from Las Vegas Motor Speedway and made a fuel stop in Oklahoma before taking off again to return to North Carolina. Roughly an hour later, the plane was forced to land at Memphis International Airport in Tennessee.

Downtown Memphis Commission and Memphis International Raceway are teaming up to bring motorsports to Downtown Memphis.
Extreme Overkill, the first monster truck to exceed 90 mph, will be on display in Court Square on Friday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to kick off Memphis International Raceway’s Monster Truck Mania and Labor Day Bracket Bash Racing Extravaganza. The Court Square display will also include another monster truck from War Wizard Racing, a dragster and a racecar.

Moroso Investment Partners IV LLC bought the park from Memphis International Motorsports Corp. for $2.1 million. The deal closed Jan. 31.
