VM Property Investments LLC of Sandy, Utah, bought the 2-year-old retail store from Ware Properties LLC, the Coldwater, Miss.-based company that developed the property.

4. Arlington Pet Hospital Files $1.2M Permit For Expansion -

Construction plans for a new stand-alone space for a growing Arlington veterinary clinic are under way near its current shopping center space.

Samuel Garrett Davis, founder of Arlington Pet Hospital PLLC, has filed a $1.2 million building permit application with the city-county Department of Construction Code Enforcement for a 5,200-square-foot facility, complete with hospital boarding and grooming capabilities.

5. Dollar General Building Store On Jackson In N. Memphis -

Plans for a new Dollar General store in the city’s North submarket are under way. Ware Properties LLC purchased 9,100 square feet of vacant land at 3433 Jackson Ave. from Hector Tejeda in May for $140,000, according to the Shelby County Register of Deeds. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2011 appraisal of the parcel was $109,200.

9. General Dollar Store Slated for Millbranch -

Coldwater, Miss.-based Ware Properties LLC has filed a $485,000 permit application with the city-county Office of Construction Code Enforcement to build a Dollar General store at 4546 Millbranch Road in Whitehaven. The 9,014-square-foot store will sit on 1.15 acres along the east side of Millbranch, north of East Shelby Drive.

10. Democratic Party Cmte. To Grow in County -

The Shelby County Democratic Party’s executive committee probably will be larger because of the larger local voter turnout in the November presidential elections.

Members of the committee got their first look last week at proposed rules for the coming party convention. Since President Barack Obama carried Shelby County in November and voter turnout was also increased, rules will allow the 66-member committee to add some new positions. All executive committee members are elected based on the state House district they live in.
