36. Pair of Churches Planning Adaptive Reuse Projects -

The former Prairie Life/Omni Fitness building in Collierville and a former Schnucks grocery store on Riverdale Road are slated for adaptive reuse projects after being purchased by churches.

The Orchard Church bought the former Prairie Life/Omni Fitness building at 3690 S. Houston Levee Road in Collierville from Hackmeyer Properties for $4.3 million. Tanis Hackmeyer said that her real estate firm structured a creative wraparound mortgage, which allowed the church to take ownership of the property in advance of their capital campaign.

37. Boyle Completing Key Quadrant At Schilling Farms, Eyeing More Retail -

Boyle Investment Co. is wrapping up construction on a critical corner of Schilling Farms that will bring more retail and encourage more office users to consider the development. The three adjacent projects fill in the southern quadrant of Schilling Boulevard and Winchester Road, a small part of the sprawling 443-acre, city-within-a-city in Collierville.

The legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach died at age 64 on June 28 after a five-year fight with early-onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type. She was just 59 years old at the time of her diagnosis and still coaching. The disease did not spare her because she led the Lady Vols to eight NCAA championships.

Carriage Crossing is experiencing strong leasing activity and rising sales numbers as it prepares for multinational clothing retailer H&M to open its first Memphis-area location this month.

In recent months, the Collierville lifestyle center landed the H&M store, which the Swedish retailer says it plans to open Aug. 13, an Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse and a Hickory Tavern restaurant.
