1. Company Completes Purchase of Ark. Ice Cream Maker -

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – A Chicago snack food supplier has completed acquisition of an Arkansas ice cream maker and plans to make its products available to retailers across the state.

In a statement released Monday, Schulze & Burch Biscuit Co. said its management will meet with retailers to present the Yarnell's Ice Cream Co. product line with original formulas and start the process of reopening Yarnell's plant in Searcy using some former Yarnell's employees.

SEARCY, Ark. (AP) – The apparent winning bids for the recipes of bankrupt Yarnell's Ice Cream Co. were turned down and awarded instead to a Chicago company as part of its overall bid for much of Yarnell's assets.

SEARCY, Ark. (AP) – Major assets of bankrupt Yarnell's Ice Cream Co. of Searcy have been sold for $1.3 million to a Chicago-based company that officials say plan to reopen the plant.
