Gusmus moved into the role of interim president at FTN Financial a little more than two months ago following the departure of former FTN Financial president Mark Medford.
Medford left the company to become president and CEO of the local investment firm Vining-Sparks IBG LP.
The choice of Gusmus to lead FTN Financial will not be the last management change to take place in the wake of Bryan Jordan’s promotion to CEO at First Horizon, a role he assumed in September. Jordan is First Horizon’s former CFO, and a search remains under way for that position.
