1. Iconic E. Memphis Office Building Sells for $19.7M -

Nashville-based Magnolia Capital Investments has purchased the Trustmark Centre located at 5350 Poplar Ave. from Israeli investors, Faropoint Ventures. Faropoint intends to reinvest proceeds from the sale to buy other Memphis properties.

2. 1-Year-Old Halloran Centre Expands Orpheum’s Reach -

The contrast couldn’t be greater. The Orpheum Theatre opened in 1928 and was one of the first buildings in Memphis placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Orpheum’s Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education is a year old and is a model of contemporary design, technology and other amenities.

3. Marx-Bensdorf Expands in East Memphis -

A prominent Memphis realty company has expanded its presence in East Memphis. Marx-Bensdorf Realtors has grown in the office building at 5860 Ridgeway Loop Blvd. by 526 square feet, bringing its total to 4,653 square feet.

4. FedExForum Area Targeted for Apartments -

Nashville-based Elmington Capital Partners apparently likes the apartment market in Downtown Memphis.

An Elmington-affiliated company plans on building a 64-unit apartment complex at 362 S. Second St., south of FedExForum.

5. Orpheum Theatre Names New Board Members -

The Orpheum Theatre and its parent organization, the Memphis Development Foundation, has announced 10 members joining the Orpheum board of directors. The new members are: Chuck Treadway, Thomas & Betts president and chief operating officer; Don Young, Smith and Nephew senior vice president, corporate sustainability; Andy Taylor, Gerber/Taylor Capital Advisors Inc. partner; Gary Smith, Apperson Crump PLC attorney; Alan Mullen, Crew Training International president; Scott Hennessy, True Temper Sports Inc. president; Keri Gage, SunTrust private wealth management/senior vice president; Robert Cox, Glassman, Edwards, Wyatt, Tuttle & Cox PC attorney; Bo Allen, First Tennessee executive vice president; and Sara Adams, community volunteer.

6. Chickasaw Council to Honor Two at Awards Luncheon -

Charles C. Gerber and R. Andrew Taylor of Gerber/Taylor Capital Advisors will be honored Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award Luncheon held by the Chickasaw Council, Boy Scouts of America’s Scoutreach Division.

7. Humphreys Joins Keller Williams Realty -

Herbo Humphreys has joined the Crump Realty Group of Keller Williams Realty. Humphreys previously worked as a project supervisor for Bryan-Turley Properties.

8. AEL Files Permit for Century Center Facility -

American Esoteric Laboratories has taken another step toward building a $14.3 million lab and headquarters for its Mid-South division.

AEL, a regional provider of clinical laboratory services to physicians and hospitals, last week filed a $9.2 million permit to build a one-story, 70,000-square-foot facility at 1701 Century Center Parkway near the junction of Interstate 40 and Whitten Road.

9. Gerard Appointed Administrator at Methodist Cancer Center -

Dr. Dava F. Gerard has been appointed administrator for the Methodist Healthcare Cancer Center. She previously was the founding vice president and chief operating officer of the Nevada Cancer Institute in Las Vegas.
