Redmont, a certified public accountant, has more than 25 years of tax and consulting experience with international firms in the accounting and insurance industries, and has served clients in the manufacturing, retail, distribution, health care and financial services industries. He also served on a national Sarbanes-Oxley team for an international firm.

Details: The 38,472-square-foot Ridge Lake Office Building at 756 Ridge Lake Blvd. in East Memphis has sold back to the lender for $2.9 million following a foreclosure.

6. Austin Peay Citgo Store Sells After Foreclosure -

The Citgo gas station and convenience store at 4861 Austin Peay Highway in unincorporated Northeast Shelby County has sold back to the lender for $1.4 million following a foreclosure.

Decatur Properties IV Inc. of Covington, Ga., an affiliate of Fidelity Bank, bought the 4,080-square-foot store in a May 13 successor trustee’s deed from Erika R. Barnes of the Nashville office of Stites & Harbison PLLC law firm.

7. Stites & Harbison Brings Patent Expertise to Bioworks -

In an effort to enhance expertise in patent cases among U.S. district judges, the 10-year Patent Pilot Program went into effect assigning patent cases to 14 federal district courts in 2011. The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee was one of those courts chosen.

8. Rhodes Honors Gray for Outstanding Research -

Dr. Patrick Gray, an associate professor in Rhodes College’s department of religious studies, has received the college’s Clarence Day Award for Outstanding Research. Gray’s research centers on biblical studies, specifically the history and literature of early Christianity and the Greco-Roman context.

The Hampton Inn Memphis-Southwind hotel at 3579 Hacks Cross Road sold for $5.6 million in a successor trustee’s deed following a foreclosure.

13. Southwind Homewood Suites Facing Foreclosure -

Homewood Suites by Hilton Southwind-Hacks Cross is facing foreclosure after its ownership group defaulted on a $10 million loan from Lehman Brothers Bank, according to a first-run foreclosure notice in Thursday’s Daily News.

14. Hampton Inn Southwind in Foreclosure -

The Hampton Inn Memphis-Southwind hotel, 3579 Hacks Cross Road, is in foreclosure after its Memphis-based ownership group defaulted on an $11.5 million loan.

15. Claybrook Building Facing Foreclosure -

A first-run foreclosure notice has been filed against the owner of the seven-story Claybrook Medical Office Building, 220 S. Claybrook St., on the Methodist University Hospital campus.

17. Winbranch Apartments Sold After Foreclosure -

The 460-unit Winbranch Apartments at 3595 Millbranch Road in Whitehaven sold June 4 for $4 million in a successor trustee’s sale following a foreclosure. The sprawling multifamily complex sold on the Shelby County Courthouse steps to an entity called LBUNS 2004-C4 Millbranch Road LLC, which is a local affiliate of Miami-based LNR Partners Inc.

18. Bass Berry Adds Williams to Real Estate Practice -

Bass, Berry & Sims has hired LaToya Williams as an associate in its commercial transactions and real estate practice area. Previously, she was an associate with Stites & Harbison PLLC in Atlanta and Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs in Memphis. Williams received her juris doctorate in 2004 from the University of Tennessee College of Law and is a member of the American, National, Tennessee and Memphis bar associations.
