The Levitt Shell’s free summer concerts in Overton Park continue through July 15, but organizers are already looking ahead to a fall lineup that runs Sept. 6 to Oct. 21.

The Orion Free Music Concert Series features a wide range of artists playing free, family-friendly outdoor shows at the shell. At least 10 of the fall shows will be part of the Regional One Memphis Music series, featuring featuring local and regional artists such as North Mississippi Allstars, Opera Memphis, Low Cut Connie, Those Pretty Wrongs, Memphis Hepcats and Rhodes Jazz Night with Joyce Cobb.

Architecture and design firm Haizlip Studio has sold its Midtown location near the corner of Central Avenue and Cooper Street.

Haizlip, doing business as Squirrel LLC, sold the 6,400-square-foot building to Sparky Memphis LLC for $681,000, according to an April 24 warranty deed filed with the Shelby County Register. Seldon P. Haizlip signed the warranty deed on behalf of the sellers.

6. FDA Ends Arkansas Nicotine Research After Monkey Deaths - Wednesday, January 31, 2018

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has axed a nicotine addiction study at an Arkansas lab after the deaths of four squirrel monkeys.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports the FDA issued a statement Friday saying the study was immediately put on hold in September when agency officials learned the four monkeys had died at the National Center for Toxicological Research.
