1. BancorpSouth to Complete Long-Delayed Acquisitions -

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) – A Mississippi bank has won approval to complete mergers with Louisiana and Texas banks that were delayed for nearly four years.

BancorpSouth announced Wednesday that it intends to complete the acquisitions of Ouachita Independent Bank and First State Bank Central Texas by Jan. 15. The Tupelo-based bank says it finally been approved by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and Mississippi banking regulators.

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — BancorpSouth's proposed merger deals with Central Community Corp. and Ouachita Bancshares Corp. have been extended until Dec. 31 of next year.

3. BancorpSouth Puts Two Planned Mergers on Hold -

A downgrade of BancorpSouth’s Community Reinvestment Act rating means two mergers have been tabled for the time being. BancorpSouth announced in January 2014 its intent to acquire Ouachita Bancshares Corp. of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Central Community Corp. of Temple, Texas. The merger agreements were valued at a combined $325 million in stock and cash at the time.

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — BancorpSouth Inc. saw its net income rise more than 15 percent to $28.8 million in the third quarter, as loans and insurance commission revenue increased.

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) – BancorpSouth has announced an agreement to acquire Monroe, La.-based Ouachita Bancshares Corp. and its main subsidiary, Ouachita Independent Bank.
