1. Musician, Songwriter Sykes Joins Ardent as Chief Manager -

Longtime songwriter, touring artist and studio owner Keith Sykes has joined Ardent Studios as chief manager, bringing more than 40 years’ experience in the music industry. More than 100 of Sykes’ songs have been recorded by other artists – including John Prine, Rosanne Cash and George Thorogood – and have sold more than 25 million records worldwide. In addition, he once played in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band and co-wrote the 1979 hit “Volcano” with Buffett.

Now that global entertainment icon Justin Timberlake and his family have sold their happy local retreat, Mirimichi Golf Course, to a local group for $500,000, the new owners have an opportunity to increase the number of holes and tournaments played at the course, which underwent a massive $16 million renovation.

Entertainer Justin Timberlake and his family have sold the Mirimichi golf course in Millington. The course’s ownership group, Mirimichi LLC, sold the property at 6195 Woodstock Cuba Road to Three Star Leasing LLC for $500,000, according to the Shelby County Register of Deeds’ website. A copy of the deed was not available online by press time.

Entertainer Justin Timberlake’s golf course Mirimichi, located 15 minutes north of Downtown Memphis, has received a Tennessee Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award, one of the state’s most prestigious environmental and conservation awards. Mirimichi won the award under the category of Parks and Recreation.

Back in 1972, Diane Meucci attended an Earth Day festival. It introduced her to the idea of organic, eco-friendly gardening and landscaping.

“I became a true believer,” said Meucci, who currently owns and operates Gardens Oy Vey, a nursery and landscaping business in Arlington that opened in 1988. “I definitely drank the Kool-Aid.”

MEMPHIS (AP) – Singer Justin Timberlake is celebrating the reopening of his Memphis golf course.

Mirimichi has been closed since mid-January for improvements. A news release from the course says it now offers a "world class golf experience at a public course without expensive memberships, minimums or monthly dues."

Mirimichi golf course near Millington – the facility owned by megastar and Memphis native Justin Timberlake and his family – soon will begin work on the Callaway Performance Center, according to a $1.3 million building permit filed this week with the city-county Office of Construction Code Enforcement.
