3. Faropoint Buys 2 Properties After Trustmark Centre Sale -

Fresh off of the sale of Trustmark Centre, Faropoint Ventures has acquired two more substantial office assets.

The Israeli investment firm bought the Lipscomb & Pitts Building, 2670 Union Ave. Extended, and Poplar Towers, 6263 Poplar Ave., for a combined $19.3 million using capital from the Trustmark Centre sale. The purchase also includes the high-end restaurant Fleming’s, 6245 Poplar, and an AT&T store at 6267 Poplar, both outparcels to Poplar Towers.

4. Iconic E. Memphis Office Building Sells for $19.7M -

Nashville-based Magnolia Capital Investments has purchased the Trustmark Centre located at 5350 Poplar Ave. from Israeli investors, Faropoint Ventures. Faropoint intends to reinvest proceeds from the sale to buy other Memphis properties.

International shipping giant DHL Supply Chain is planning a massive new development just north of the Tennessee-Mississippi state line.

The global logistics division of Germany’s Deutsche Post DHL Group is looking to build a 580,000-square-foot distribution facility on 55 acres of vacant land east of Tchulahoma Road and west of Meltech Boulevard on the northern border of the state line.

Coming off of a strong year in 2015, the commercial real estate market in the Memphis metropolitan area continued to do well in 2016.

69. Kirk-Ivy Named 2016 Mississippi Commercial Realtor -

Bambi K. Kirk-Ivy, a commercial Realtor and marketing director at Olive Branch-based Utley Properties, recently was recognized as the 2016 Mississippi Commercial Realtor of the Year at the annual Mississippi Realtors Convention and Expo.
As a landlord representative for all of Utley’s properties, most of Kirk-Ivy’s work has been in retail; however, she says the company is now focusing on light industrial-type flex spaces consisting of office, showroom and warehouse uses.

Six months after Memphis-based Morris Auction Group expanded into Destin, Florida, the company is expanding the scope of its services there.

Morris’ Destin branch, Luxury Estates Auction Co., has added a new arm focused on traditional real estate services. Called Luxury Estates Realty Group, the arm will focus on showcasing and selling high net worth properties in the Destin/30A area and the Northwest Florida region.

The Horizon Business Center, a flex warehouse development on the north side of Interstate 40 near Wolfchase Galleria, has sold for $6.3 million.

Three limited liability companies affiliated with Louisville, Colorado-based Real Capital Solutions bought the 23,750-square-foot building at 2525 Horizon Lake Drive and the 41,300-square-foot building at 2565 Horizon Lake Drive from MM Industrial Memphis LLC in an Oct. 25 warranty deed.

Three limited liability companies affiliated with Louisville, Colorado-based Real Capital Solutions bought the 23,750-square-foot building at 2525 Horizon Lake Drive and the 41,300-square-foot building at 2565 Horizon Lake Drive from MM Industrial Memphis LLC in an Oct. 25 warranty deed. The seller had owned the properties since 2005.

79. McNeill Commercial Real Estate Thrives By Focusing on Flexibility -

McNeill Commercial Real Estate doesn’t focus on one discipline, location or product type.

While some developers focus on multifamily, retail or industrial properties, for example, McNeill dabbles in it all. That includes a hospitality group that started in 2014 to expand on its already present hotel focus.

80. Industrial Real Estate Competition Heats Up Between DeSoto, Marshall -

A North Mississippi industrial park more than 10 years in the making is reaching the finish line. By next May, Hillwood Investment Co. will wrap construction on a 947,000-square-foot warehouse on the final parcel in the DeSoto Trade Center.

Haley Simmons has joined the Greater Memphis Chamber as the director of public policy, a new position in the chamber’s community development department. In this role, Simmons will be focused on enhancing the chamber’s advocacy efforts to inform and engage its members on important policy issues, and he’ll also be responsible for growing the chamber’s role in education initiatives.
