Details: Conwood Co. LLC on Nov. 5 formally acquired the 787,500-square-foot facility at 5106 Tradeport Drive in Hickory Hill South for $19.3 million. Conwood earlier this year announced plans to buy the building, where it will expand its manufacturing operation of the smokeless tobacco products Kodiak and Grizzly.

TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has announced it will add 200 jobs to its Texarkana operation and start running the plant around the clock, seven days a week.

9. Cooper Tire Expansion Set to Begin this Month -

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Construction is expected to begin this month on the $6 million expansion of Cooper Tire and Rubber's plant in Tupelo.

RFW Construction, based out of Dyersburg, Tenn., will build the 32,000-square-foot addition, which was which originally was estimated to cost about $5.75 million.

The former Burke's Book Store at 1719 Poplar Ave. has sold for $445,000 to Poplar Auto Partners, an investment group headed by commercial real estate broker Mark Johnson.

The sale closed April 7, the same day the company filed a $1.1 million construction loan through Covenant Bank for renovations to the 84-year-old building's exterior and interior, according to the Shelby County Register of Deeds.
