1. Third Memphis TEDx Event Set for Jan. 6 -

When Hardy Farrow takes the stage in the Halloran Centre at The Orpheum Theatre in a few weeks, it will be to present his argument about poverty and what to do about it.

Farrow – who founded LITE Memphis, which stands for Let’s Innovate Through Education – is one of the speakers who’ll be presenting talks Jan. 6 at TEDxMemphis, which has as its theme this year “The Slant.” The conference will be a chance for speakers like Farrow to share their perspective – their slant, as it were – on the world around them.

3. Quince Road Walgreens Sells for $3.6 Million -

A Walgreens at 5121 Quince Road, at the corner of White Station Road, has sold for $3.6 million.

Florida-based Lease Fund I LLC sold the property to a conglomerate made up of four trusts and a limited partnership, according to a Feb. 17 warranty deed recently filed with the Shelby County Register’s Office.

4. Radio Host Zeke Logan Dies After Cancer Battle -

Radio personality Zeke Logan died Tuesday, Feb. 10, following a cancer diagnosis just a few months earlier.

Logan, 49, teamed with Drake Hall to form the Drake and Zeke radio team, whose show most recently was broadcast on 98.1 the Max. Logan’s son made the announcement of his death on-air. Logan had not been doing the show for several weeks.
