1. 3 Former FedEx Workers Charged With Mail Theft -

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Federal prosecutors in Tennessee say three former FedEx employees have been charged with stealing mail intended for religious organizations.

Court records show Tiara Williams, Crystal Berry and Kimberly Smith have pleaded not guilty to mail theft charges. The U.S. attorney's office in Memphis says they face up to five years in prison if convicted.

And no doubt, any FESJC volunteer that crossed his path that year did right by him. Picked him up and got him to TPC Southwind on time, delivered cold water on the golf course and on and on.

7. Fisher Joins Boy Scouts Chickasaw Council as CEO -

Richard L. Fisher has joined the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America as chief executive officer. In his new role, Fisher will extend character development and leadership skills to youth who live in the Chickasaw Council territory, which includes the Mississippi Delta, Memphis, and Shelby and Crittenden counties.

NASHVILLE (AP) – The Republican leader carrying Gov. Bill Haslam's proposal to create school vouchers in Tennessee said he's decided to let it die this session because he's tired of the "gamesmanship."

9. Commission to Appoint School Board Members -

Shelby County Commissioners will appoint two new members to the countywide school board at their Monday, Sept. 10, meeting.

The commission meeting is at 1:30 p.m. at the Vasco Smith County Administration Building, 160 N. Main St.

Win Rawson has been named president of Memphis-based Benefit Recover Inc.

Rawson joined the company as general counsel in June 2007. Previously, he worked at Lawrence & Russell LLP, where he developed and managed employment and benefits litigation for several Fortune 100 clients.

State investigators and the court-appointed receiver of Forest Hill cemeteries and funeral homes began to meet some resistance this week in their civil cases against those who allegedly embezzled more than $20 million from the cemetery trust funds.
