11. Central Defense Security Collecting School Supplies -

Central Defense Security has teamed up with the Hickory Hill Community Center to help ensure that students at several local schools have the school supplies they need for the 2012-2013 school year.

12. Leading Indicators Rise 0.5 Percent in July -

NEW YORK (AP) – A private research group forecast that the economy will grow slowly in the second half of the year because of the support it's gotten from the Federal Reserve.

The Conference Board said its index of leading economic indicators rose 0.5 percent in July. The index had risen 0.3 percent in June.

Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis, and Dr. Ken Reardon, director of the graduate program in City and Regional Planning at the University of Memphis, will be the keynote speakers.
