1. Rookie Recognizes It’s About More Than Recognition -

First, you have to love the name of the event: the 2018 Rising Stars Challenge. And that the Memphis Grizzlies will be represented at the NBA All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.

Rookie forward Dillon Brooks, a native of Ontario, Canada, will play for the World team against the United States on Feb. 16. Among the other players chosen for the game that features rookies and sophomores: Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, Utah’s Donovan Mitchell, Boston’s Jayson Tatum, the Lakers’ Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma, and Chicago’s Lauri Markkanen.

2. Lasting Impression -

Matthew Snape was working for a blacksmith in his native United Kingdom when he got the opportunity to do a demonstration at the Metal Museum.

“I fancied coming back,” said Snape, 34. “I felt like it was time for a change, and I was fortunate enough to get it, and here I am.”

3. Dave Robbins Receives Highest Recognition In Restoration Industry -

Dave Robbins of Crawford, Smith & Sharp LLC recently was awarded the Certified Restorer (CR) designation from the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration. The CR designation is the highest recognition awarded in the restoration industry. Since its inception in 1976, only 485 individuals have earned the designation.
