1. Former Mayor A C Wharton Joins Board at Trezevant -

Trezevant recently announced that it has named A C Wharton, Jr. to its board of directors. Wharton is the former mayor of both the city of Memphis and Shelby County. An attorney by trade, he has also served in a number of leadership roles, including as director of Memphis Area Legal Services, chief public defender for Shelby County and chairman of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

5. Arkansas Steel Mill Proposal Gains Traction -

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – Gov. Mike Beebe's plan to provide $125 million in state financing to help a new company build a steel mill in Mississippi County is gaining bipartisan support among legislators – though some conservatives still object to having the government help fund one of Arkansas' largest economic development projects.

Dr. Heather Sehnert Baldwin has joined Trumbull Laboratories LLC as a pathologist. In her new role, Baldwin will practice a full range of pathology with a focus in hematopathology.

7. Audit Finds Ark. Teacher Pension System Violated Rules -

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - An audit of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System has found what it calls apparent rules violations at the agency.

The state Division of Legislative Audit says the system paid for services before entering into contracts, failed to timely deposit checks, extended mortgages without proper approval and did not have proper computer security.

Susan Fentress has joined the Downtown offices of Harris Shelton Hanover Walsh PLLC. Fentress concentrates her practice in the areas of intellectual property and biosciences.
