Rhodes College will host Gary Schmitt, co-director of the Marilyn Ware Center for Security Studies at the American Enterprise Institute, Thursday, April 10, at 4 p.m. in the Frazier Jelke Science Center on campus, 2000 North Parkway. Kiwanis Club of Memphis will meet Wednesday, April 9, from noon to 1 p.m. at The University Club of Memphis, 1346 Central Ave. George Cogswell, publisher of the Commercial Appeal, will speak. Cost is $18 for nonmembers.

5. DeVivo Departure Signals Shift at Smith & Nephew -

Smith & Nephew Inc. said its Memphis-based president of Orthopaedic Reconstruction and Trauma will soon leave the company as part of an organizational restructuring that will combine the company’s Memphis and Andover, Mass., divisions.
