1. August Home Sales End Two-Month Slump as Inventory Remains Tight -

After a two-month slump, home sales in Shelby County increased 15 percent in August.

There were 1,712 sales recorded in August compared to 1,494 recorded in August 2015, according to data from real estate information company Chandler Reports, chandlerreports.com.

2. May Home Sales Rise, Low Inventory Hiking Prices -

After a strong April, home sales in Shelby County continued to perform well in May.

Total home sales increased 29 percent, from 1,266 recorded in May 2015 to 1,630 sales in May this year. Total home sales volume soared to $251 million, which is up 27 percent from last year, according to data from real estate information company Chandler Reports, chandlerreports.com.

3. Shelby County Home Sales Slip, Construction Sees Boost -

September real estate slumped in Shelby County, but according to real estate professionals, it’s nothing they haven’t seen before.

“Good times and bad, people still want to own homes,” said Felix Bishop, broker and vice president with Crye-Leike Real Estate Services.

4. MAAR Elects New Board Members -

The Memphis Area Association of Realtors recently elected several new members to the organization’s board of directors.

Felix Bishop of Crye-Leike Realtors Inc., Deborah Williams of 4 Success Realty LLC, Lauren Harkins-Wiuff of Crye-Leike, David Tester of Marx-Bensdorf Realtors, John Mercer of Highwoods Properties and Albert Lee of Century 21 Maselle & Associates were selected to be 2015-2016 board members.
