The last FedEx St. Jude Classic will not be without star power. In the tournament’s final year under the current format before converting to the World Golf Championships - FedEx St. Jude Invitational in 2019, the field will feature World No. 2 Dustin Johnson, No. 9 Brooks Koepka and No. 15 Henrik Stenson (rankings through June 3).

9. Memphis Site of One of Golf’s Greatest Events -

The hugs, the handshakes, the slaps on the back, the big smiles and loud, lengthy applause. All things normally saved in the golf world for that moment when a 75-foot eagle putt settles in the bottom of the hole.

This is Darrell Smith’s first year as tournament director of the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Because he is only 33 years old, one could argue he got to this position quickly. But that’s not entirely true and does not take into account the fateful moment when he was 14 years old.

19. Mickelson Rallies, But Fabian Gomez Wins Memphis Golf Tournament -

Billy Horschel wore FedEx colors – purple and orange – on Sunday for the last round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic. It seemed to work for him as he shot a 5-under 65 to finish at 7 under and in tie for 8th place.

20. Dustin Johnson Withdraws at FedEx St. Jude Classic -

Dustin Johnson has withdrawn after nine holes of the St. Jude Open because of illness.

Johnson came into the event he won in 2012 ranked seventh in the world, the highest of any player in the field at the final tuneup for the U.S. Open, but he started off with three straight bogeys starting at No. 10 at TPC Southwind on Thursday.

21. FedEx St. Jude Classic Gets Two Top-Tier Commits -

The FedEx St. Jude Classic field is getting deeper. Reigning FedExCup champion Billy Horschel and 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson have committed to play in the tournament at TPC Southwind, June 8-14. They join a field for the $6 million event that already includes fan favorite Phil Mickelson and 2012 FESJC champ Dustin Johnson.

A year ago, former University Georgia standout Harris English tamed TPC Southwind for his first career victory on the PGA Tour, holding off Phil Mickelson and three others in the final round.

“I have a lot of good thoughts for this place,” English said Wednesday, on the eve of the 57th FedEx St. Jude Classic that tees off the morning of Thursday, June 5.

Everyone was in a good mood. Not just normally affable Grizzlies players Mike Conley and Mike Miller, but former Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins and Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Jim Brown, a couple of hard-nosed throwback types.

27. ‘Lefty’ Highlights 2013 Golf Tournament Field -

The biggest name at this weekend’s FedEx St. Jude Classic signed autographs as he came off the ninth green at TPC Southwind after his pro-am round and then stopped to chat with reporters.

Phil Mickelson – the man more commonly known as, simply, “Lefty” – was wearing his trademark black cap and shirt, looking tan and fit, and sounding eager for his scheduled 7:27 a.m. starting time Thursday, June 6, on the 10th tee.

28. Arkansas Group Files Lawsuit Against Health Plan -

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Two members of a conservative activist group filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday to challenge President Barack Obama's health care plan, claiming it is unconstitutional to force people to choose between buying insurance and paying a fine.
