1. Tennessee Titans Tight End Craig Stevens Planning to Retire -

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee Titans tight end Craig Stevens is retiring at the age of 31.

2. Rotten to the Core: Titans Fail to Develop Talent -

As the Tennessee Titans sink toward the end of another lackluster season, they head into the off-season with still more holes to fill for 2016.

Some of that, of course, is inevitable with any team as an NFL roster. Even on the best teams can have a 20 percent roster turnover in the off-season due to injuries, free agency and new draft picks coming on board.

3. Struggling Titans Step Up Their Game for Mularkey -

The biggest positive for the 2015 Titans is that they continue to fight.

Their record – 3-9 – is terrible, not a marked improvement over last year’s 2-14 debacle. But the Titans have not folded on a regular basis, as they did a year ago when they lost nine games by two touchdowns or more.

6. Sixth Circuit Upholds Gay Marriage Ban -

The Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Thursday, Nov. 6, that bans on gay marriage in Tennessee as well as Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio are constitutional.

The long-awaited ruling, the latest in a series from the nation’s set of federal appeals courts, sets the stage for the U.S. Supreme Court to decide the now conflicting rulings among the appeals courts.

7. Attorneys Busy With Nuances of US Health Care Reform -

Most businesses are well aware of key provisions in the Affordable Care Act, like the mandate for larger employers to provide health care insurance coverage to employees.

But attorneys are busy at work on some of the lesser-known aspects of the new health care law.

9. Noel Becomes ABA Delegate From Tennessee -

Randall D. Noel has been elected as the Tennessee delegate to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates.

Noel is a member of Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada PLLC’s Commercial Litigation Group. Noel is a Fellow of the American, Tennessee and Memphis Bar Foundations and has served as president of the Tennessee Bar Association.

10. Memphis Bar Assn. Elects New Officers, Board Members -

At the Memphis Bar Association’s Annual Meeting Thursday at The Peabody hotel, the MBA announced its 2010 officers and new members of its board of directors.

Immediate past president Art Quinn passed the gavel to incoming president Ricky E. Wilkins of the Law Offices of Ricky E. Wilkins. John Cannon of Shuttleworth Williams PLLC and Gary K. Smith of Apperson Crump & Maxwell PLC automatically move to the positions of vice president/president-elect and treasurer, respectively. Linda Warren Seely, director of pro bono projects at Memphis Area Legal Services Inc., was chosen as secretary.

She's not new to the practice of law - she previously spent time as an attorney at Butler Snow's Jackson, Miss., office. She has been away from the law firm environment for a few years, though.

14. Methodist's Marshall to Serve On American Heart Association Board -

Barry S. Marshall, administrator of Clinical Business Development and Cardiovascular Service Line at Methodist University Hospital, has been named to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Shelby County Division of the American Heart Association. Marshall joined Methodist in 2004 as the director of the Transplant Institute at Methodist University Hospital.
