WASHINGTON (AP) – The ousted head of the Internal Revenue Service apologized to Congress on Friday for his agency's tougher treatment of tea party and other conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. He said they resulted from a misguided effort to handle a flood of applications, not political bias.

WKNO-FM will premiere a series addressing the issue of gangs in Memphis Wednesday, Nov. 2. The series was created by news director Candice Ludlow. It will air during Morning Edition on Wednesdays over the next several weeks. Morning Edition runs from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.

WKNO-FM will premiere a series by news director Candice Ludlow that will address the issue of gangs in Memphis Wednesday, Nov. 2. The series will air in the morning during “Morning Edition” over the next several weeks. The series examines the Street Crimes Unit program through the eyes of Shelby County Sheriff Sergeant Charles Eldridge, who leads the unit. The program is working to eliminate the presence of gangs and drugs on Memphis’ streets. Morning Edition airs from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekday mornings.
