Insurer Humana Pushes Deeper Into Delivery of Health Care -

Humana will buy part of Kindred Healthcare's home health business, the latest example of a health insurer growing more involved in the delivery of care on top of handling the bills for it.
The insurer said Tuesday it will pay about $800 million in cash for a 40-percent stake in the business, which includes hospice care and serves about 130,000 patients daily. The remaining stake will be purchased by the private equity firms TPG Capital and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Little Rock Police Department will block public access to most of its radio transmissions.
Starting Thursday night, day-to-day radio calls such as bank robberies and traffic accidents will no longer be available for the public to hear on police scanners or smartphone apps, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (http://bit.ly/1oPPJ6K ) reported.

The order followed a Christmas Eve shooting at the club that killed one person and injured two more. Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr. vowed the city would seek to demolish the building. The club still stands but has not reopened since.
