They made music that inspired legions of fans. Rock 'n' roll founding fathers Chuck Berry and Fats Domino, rockers Tom Petty and Gregg Allman, grunge icon Chris Cornell, country superstar Glen Campbell and jazz great Al Jarreau were among the notable figures who died in 2017, leaving a void in virtually every genre of music.

5. $11M Theater Planned for Crosstown Concourse -

A 450-seat theater on the Crosstown Concourse campus will attract national acts and boost the local arts scene.

“It’s a really important priority for Crosstown Arts that everything we do is additive and not directly competitive, and our hope is the same for this theater,” said Todd Richardson, co-director of Crosstown Arts.

The YMCA will open its 11th Memphis-area branch in Crosstown Concourse in partnership with the Church Health Center.

7. Anne Dixon Joins BRIDGES as CFO -

Anne Dixon has joined BRIDGES as vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Dixon, who is a Bridge Builders alumna, is responsible in her new role for financial reporting and analysis to help BRIDGES leadership in performing their responsibilities.
