56. FCC to Hold TV Switch Clinics -

The Federal Communications Commission will hold clinics in Memphis in the coming days to demonstrate how to transition from analog to digital television and provide materials for consumers.

The national transition to digital television will be June 12. Consumers who use an antenna to get free, over-the-air programming could lose their television signals if they haven’t made their televisions DTV-ready.

Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton knows his proposal to close five libraries and four community centers on the first of July won't be popular with some citizens.
