Crews have begun site work on the new $7.2 million Memphis Animal Services facility at 2350 Appling Cove. Ground was broken late last month after the city of Memphis filed a permit application with the city-county Office of Construction Code Enforcement to build the one-story, 34,000-square-foot facility that will sit on 13.73 acres near Appling Road and Interstate 40.
