Wiuff, who will serve a one-year term as board president, is also a lifetime member of MAAR’s Multi Million Dollar Club. At Marx-Bensdorf, she leads a team that includes her sister, Stephanie Sheahan.

Tennessee’s two U.S. Senators split their votes Tuesday in Washington on the vote that followed the vote to open debate on a repeal and replacement of Obamacare. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker both voted yes on the debate motion. But then Corker was one of the nine Republican Senate votes that killed the Obamacare replacement plan known as BCRA, while Alexander voted for it.
4. Royston Joins Planned Parenthood To Lead Volunteer Training Efforts

Nikeisha Royston recently joined Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region as community manager, a role in which she identifies individuals interested in supporting women’s rights, then trains them to advocate for themselves and others and to be involved in the legislative process.
Royston says volunteers throughout Memphis and the Mid-South use skills learned through the training process to share vital, accurate information about the services provided by Planned Parenthood.
5. Willmarth to Lead Facilities Management at Trezevant

Brian Willmarth has joined Trezevant as director of environmental operations. In that role, he oversees maintenance, housekeeping and plant operations at the continuing care retirement community. He also oversees Trezevant’s construction and renovation projects.
6. Former Mayor A C Wharton Joins Board at Trezevant

Trezevant recently announced that it has named A C Wharton, Jr. to its board of directors. Wharton is the former mayor of both the city of Memphis and Shelby County. An attorney by trade, he has also served in a number of leadership roles, including as director of Memphis Area Legal Services, chief public defender for Shelby County and chairman of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.
7. Shipmon Joins Lending Team at Paragon

Thomas “Tee” Shipmon has joined Paragon Bank as senior vice president, specialty lending. In this role, Shipmon is responsible for developing products for Paragon that solve customers’ challenges and that are profitable to the bank. Currently, specialty lending is providing short-term commercial construction loans to companies, often franchisees, that are expanding operations.

A number of local businesses are offering hope to the city’s chronically unemployed in the form of internships that provide real-world, on-the-job training.
The program is coordinated by HopeWorks, a 22-year-old nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping poor and chronically unemployed Memphians find steady work.

The New York Times Co. Broadcast Media Group announced that Bruce Moore was named news director of WREG-TV in Memphis, effective Jan. 30. Moore is a 15-year veteran of WVEC-TV in Norfolk, Va. He served as assistant director of WVEC-TV for seven years. He graduated from the University of Georgia.
