The numbers continue at a relatively steady pace, but signals are there that the multifamily market in Shelby County is on its way to pre-recession levels.

At the Crescent Center building in East Memphis, prices per square foot have reached $30.50, a level that hasn’t been seen before in the Memphis market.

33. City Divisions To Relocate As Memphis Trims Its Footprint -

The city of Memphis is trimming its footprint with plans to consolidate municipal departments in three buildings across the city.

The Donnelley J. Hill State Office Building in Civic Center Plaza soon will be home to several municipal organizations, including the Memphis Police Department, the division of Housing and Community Development and some human resources and law offices.

When Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite took office in June 2013, one of the first tasks that landed on his desk was a long-planned regional outlet mall.

The outlet mall, planned for a roughly 33-acre site at Church Road and Interstate 55 in the DeSoto County city, had been on the drawing board for some time, but the recession and its aftermath caused developers and Mississippi officials to put it on hold.

Two Ohio-based development firms plan to build a new hotel on a vacant site in Downtown Memphis.

The former Wonder Bread bakery at 400 Monroe Ave. could soon have a new owner.

The bakery, idled by a labor strike before being sold in 2013, is under contract to a potential buyer, according to a commercial real estate broker.

TruGreen is moving more than 300 Memphis-area employees and its corporate headquarters to a 65,000-square-foot space at the Forum II office building in East Memphis, the company announced Friday.

The new headquarters, which will eventually house up to 400 of TruGreen’s corporate associates, will be part of the three-building Forum Office Complex, situated at the intersection of Kirby Parkway and Poplar Avenue.

An affiliate of Los Angeles-based Westwood Financial Corp. acquired the shopping center at the northwest corner of Quince Road and Kirby Parkway from Shops at Kirby Gate LLC, according to public records.

New York-based investor Jacob Sofer will pay Parkway Properties around $20 million for the Raymond James Tower at 50 N. Front St. Downtown, according to several people with knowledge of the transaction. The Shelby County Assessor of Property’s 2014 appraisal for the 340,000-square-foot building is $24 million.

Ronald A. Walter, president and general manager of WREG-TV, has been chosen to receive AAF Memphis’ 2015 Silver Medal, the highest form of individual recognition given by local chapters of the American Advertising Federation. The annual award, which honors an exceptional leader for a career of outstanding accomplishment and contribution in the industry, will be presented at AAF Memphis’ luncheon Jan. 29 at 11:30 a.m. at Memphis Botanic Garden.

In addition to the 600 jobs, Target is expected to make significant capital improvements to the property, which was formerly occupied by Hamilton Beach.

A leading supplier of communications and security products, electrical and electronic wire and cable, fasteners and other small components is relocating to a new Memphis distribution center.

Anixter International Inc., which is based in the Chicago area, has leased 100,000 square feet at 4001 Hickory Hill Road inside Memphis Distribution Center. Anixter will be relocating from 4580 S. Mendenhall Road, where DDN is expanding.

78. Developer Tries Again for Highland McDonald’s -

The developer behind a proposed McDonald’s on Highland Avenue near the University of Memphis is making another attempt at the project.

According to the most current site plan, the 5,353-square-foot restaurant building is situated along the sidewalk on Highland and a looping drive-thru proposed earlier has been replaced with one that runs along the eastern side of the building.

CB Richard Ellis Memphis has been selected by Highbrook Investment Management to manage four buildings in the Lenox Park office complex, located at Tenn. 385 near Kirby Road.

The four 100,000-square-foot buildings are part of the seven that comprise the largest collection of Class A office space in Memphis. Logistics vendor Green Mountain Consulting wasn’t necessarily looking to buy an office building when it began its search for more office space for expansion.
