1. Golf Event Benefits Methodist Hospice -

Women golfers get to bid on their favorite “dream caddy” at the Red Slipper Caddie Auction and Golf Tournament Sept. 26.

The event at Windyke Country Club benefits the Methodist Hospice Residence. The dream caddy will be on hand during the tournament to push carts, fetch a cool drink and clean clubs.

InMotion Orthopaedic Research Center and the Memphis Bioworks Business Association will present the Memphis Orthopaedic Research Lecture Series today from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Memphis University School, 6191 Park Ave. The speakers will be Dr. Weikuan Gu, associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and Marcus Scott, director of research, implant fixation and augments at Smith & Nephew Inc. Methodist Hospice will sponsor the “Red Slipper Women’s Golf Tournament and Caddie Auction” today at the Windyke Country Club, 8535 Winchester Road.
