1. Local Artists Hold Art Studio Tours -

For the 11th year, the Rural Route Art Studio Tour will be held Friday through Sunday at the studios of the participating artists.

The studios include Deborah Fagan Carpenter, 4881 Canada Road; Agnes Stark Studio, 12675 Donelson Road; and the Eads Gallery, 12370 Washington Road.

2. Tuttle Elected to State Judicial Selection Commission -

Dale H. Tuttle of Glassman, Edwards, Wade & Wyatt PC has been elected 2006 vice chairman of the Tennessee Judicial Selection Commission. The commission interviews and recommends applicants for all state courts.

Representatives of Concerns of Police Survivors, or COPS, will assist Shelby County Sheriff Mark H. Luttrell Jr. in lighting a holiday tree at 2 p.m. at the Sheriff's Office Substation at 11670 Memphis Arlington Road in Arlington. The effort, planned in conjunction with efforts by law enforcement agencies across West Tennessee, supports the "Holiday Blue Light" campaign sponsored by COPS. Call 573-1020.

4. Barnes Elected Chairman of FedEx/St. Jude Classic -

Reggie Barnes was elected general chairman of the FedEx St. Jude Classic and president of Youth Programs Inc., the governing body of the PGA Tour event. Barnes previously served as treasurer of Youth Programs. He also is the former chairman of the Memphis and Shelby County Sports Authority and the team selection committee for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Barnes is managing director of Morgan Keegan & Co. and also works with Athletic Resource Management.
