3. Dishmon Joins UT Medical Group

Dr. Dwight “Dan” Dishmon has joined the Department of Medicine at UT Medical Group.
Dishmon is an interventional cardiologist and cares for adults with ischemic heart disease and peripheral arterial disease.
He earned his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency and general cardiology fellowship training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He later completed additional fellowship training at Michigan State University’s Borgess Medical Center.
4. Obama Assassination Planners Waive Detention Hearing

Two men charged with planning a murder spree and an assassination attempt on Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama made a brief court appearance Thursday in Memphis federal court.
Attorneys for Daniel Cowart of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman of West Helena, Ark., waived a detention hearing and a probable cause hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald Cohn.
5. 'Skinhead Plot' Suspects To Appear in Court Today

Two men who allegedly plotted to kill Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in a suicide attack make their second court appearance today in Memphis federal court.
The hearing before Magistrate Gerald B. Cohn is to determine whether they will remain in prison pending trial on firearms charges as well as the charge of threatening a presidential candidate.
