State Program Aims to Build Work Force

Initiative helps high school kids prepare for business world

Plenty of positions to fill but not enough qualified applicants to fill them is a scenario businesses want to avoid. But in some industries, it's a situation that is faced regularly - the pool of applicants doesn't always contain candidates with the education requirements the company desires.

Small Business Initiatives Help Growing Work Force

Across the county, the number of small business owners is climbing: According to a report issued this month by the Small Business Administration, small businesses provide jobs for more than half the private work force.
