Stax Music Academy, Stax Museum and Memphis Public Library will host Vaneese Thomas for a Soul & Blues Brown Bag Series concert and Q&A Monday, June 23, at noon in the amphitheater behind the academy, 926 E. The Wolf River Conservancy and Memphis Botanic Garden will present “Lessons in Conservation from the Amazon Basin to the Midsouth” Monday, June 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the garden, 750 Cherry Road. Sarah Boyle of Rhodes College will discuss her work in the Mid-South and the Amazon River Basin, where she studies human impact on tropical habitats. The Memphis Lawyers’ Chapter of the Federalist Society will meet Tuesday, June 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madison Hotel, 79 Madison Ave. The program will include a panel discussion titled “Campaign finance regulation after ‘McCutcheon.’” Cost, including lunch, is $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers.
